The Power of Prayer
“Beloved, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24
Unity is a ministry founded on the power of prayer.
It was through prayer that co-founders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, received significant and seemingly miraculous healings. Prayer is central to Unity and to our ministry at Unity of Tampa.
Unity teaches that prayer is an essential principle in the development of a vibrant Spiritual life.
When practiced regularly, it raises an individual’s consciousness and strengthens his or her connection with the Divine. Prayer is a personal experience.
Affirmative prayer is the highest form of creative thought.
It includes the release of
counterproductive, negative thoughts, as well as holding in mind statements of spiritual truth.
Through meditation, we experience the presence of God. Prayer and meditation heighten our
awareness and align us with God and thereby transform our lives.
